Fundraising for Your Event
Fundraising is the main purpose of your event and the key to it is creating a fun, informative atmosphere with enough variety to keep people’s attention.
List of objectives to help plan the event with help from the faculty & student body.
- Silent Auction – set up 3-4 tables outside the gymnasium with donated & purchased products placed on them with a bidding sheet next to each item. Mark a “starting bid” to ensure you will recoup the cost of the item and allow fans to bid on each item. Close the tables at different times throughout the evening to allow for multiple announcements of closings and winners between matches.
- Have a full concession stand running with a % of its proceeds going to your donation fund.
- Split the Pot Raffle drawing - winner gets half the pot and the other half goes to the general fund. After the winner is announced, offer to trade their share for a PINK volleyball or other prize of lesser value than the pot.
- Contests at the beginning of the event, between each match & end grand finale.
- Recognize/moment of silence in remembrance those affected by your cause.
- Have a Men’s volleyball match before the girls to warm up the crowd – use the help of the Men’s volleyball team – if you don’t have one use the help of the men’s sports teams you enlisted earlier
- “Real Men wear Pink” event – have 5 male students dress up in pink and ask them to “go all out” – they’ll know what to do. Have the crowd vote on who wins and award them with a PINK volleyball.
- Recognize the other sports that have taken part in your event and by having them stand for applause.
- Volleyball Spandex Shorts race – A side to side relay race of 2-6 teams of 2-4 (use the other sports for participants). Each player tries to fit as many volleyballs into their size XXXL Spandex shorts (worn over their clothes found at a local clothing retailer). The player runs to one end of the court where they meet their teammate, swap the collection of volleyballs and return to the other side – repeats 2 times.
