Please allow 24 to 48 hours for order processing. We give our best effort to process orders for shipment the same day if placed before 11:00 AM (pacific time). Business operations are closed weekends and some holidays, so shipment of orders may be delayed during those times. When selecting expedited freight, please remember that the shipment day will not count toward the transit time (i.e.: if shipment leaves our distribution facility on Monday traveling 3-Day-Air, it should arrive Thursday). If your order is time sensitive, please call our Customer Service toll free at 1-800-729-8224 for an estimated delivery time. You will receive an Order Confirmation within 15 minutes of submitting your online order and another upon shipment from our warehouse with the carrier's tracking number included.
It is our goal to fulfill your online order promptly and accurately, so we cannot guarantee being able to change to your order once it has been entered into our fulfillment system for processing. If you must change or cancel an order entered online at www.tachikara.com, please call our Customer Service Representative toll free at 1-800-729-8224 and refer to your assigned order confirmation number.
Since tetherball is considered a recreational playground activity, the game is not governed by official rules though some playing rules do exist. The height of a tetherball pole may vary anywhere between 9' to 10', and should be properly anchored in a solid base for stability.
A ball should be tethered from the top of the tetherball pole so it is suspended between 3' and 4' from the ground, depending upon the height of the players.
Recommended amount of air pressure (PSI) for Tachikara should be marked around the ball's valve core. We highly suggest moistening a standard size inflation needle (1043) with glycerin before inserting it straight into the center of the ball's valve. Be careful to not over-inflate and also have an inflation gauge accessible to accurately measure the PSI in compliance with the Official Rule Book of a specific sport's requirements.
We recommend using an inflation gauge to determine the exact amount of pressure, such as the Tachikara GAUGE available for purchase online. Please do not use a high pressure air compressor similar to those found at industrial sites or service stations. Rather, we highly recommend using a smaller electric inflator or dual-action hand pump similar to models offered by Tachikara. Refer to the inflation instructions marked around the valve core on most models. Over-inflation can be problematic to the construction and intended performance of a ball, which will void its warranty.
Composite leather is a man-made material manufactured with extruded micro-fibers that are layered and interlocked into a substrate that simulates the properties and durability of natural leather.
The rectangular playing court is 59' long by 29' 6" wide for official outdoor play. The height of the net for women should be 7' 4 1/8", and 7' 11 5/8" for men. Height should be measured from the center-point of the net to the floor or ground.
Tachikara indoor leather, micro-leather, and/or composite leather volleyballs should be stored inside in a temperature controlled environment and should not be exposed to extreme pressure systems, temperature fluctuations or outdoor elements. Balls can be stored inflated or deflated in the off-season. If deflated for storage, when ready to reinflate, hold the valve area firmly between your thumb and index finger and notice the recommended inflation instructions (PSI) marked around the valve core. We highly suggest moistening a standard size inflation needle (1043) with glycerin before inserting it straight into the center of the ball's valve. Please have an inflation gauge nearby to accurately measure the PSI, so as to not over-inflate.
To clean, we recommend wiping the exterior of the ball with a damp cloth using a mixture of water and a mild liquid detergent. During peak seasons for illnesses, you may also want to use a disinfecting wipe that is known to eliminate 99.9% of germs that can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours and 99.9% of viruses and bacteria.
The best thing you can do with a leather ball is use it for release of natural oils and properties within the material, comparable to "breaking in" a pair of shoes. We do not recommend applying topical ointments or cremes to preserve our leather, or use for leather balls for outdoor play.
Refer to the Official Rule Book governing a specific sport for a list of approved products and specifications. Tachikara® models that are "Officially" endorsed will bear an authenticating mark of an organization or entity, which should also be identified in the products description on the product's web page.
